Edwin AW09 SEN Jeans

You guys know how much we love Edwin Jeans.  We’ve been fans of the brand for years and will continue to follow them as long as they keep churning out quality denims.  We recieved an E-Mail from our friends at Aphrodite Clothing this morning letting us know that their new Edwin for Autumn/Winter 09 is online and asking if we’d take a quick look.  There aren’t many pairs on their site (6 in total), but what’s in stock is most definately the pick of the crop.

Edwin AW09 SEN Jeans

The highlights for us have got to be the two SEN styles.  These are available in regular and skinny fits and are pieced together with Edwin’s 11oz signature red and white listed selvedge denim.  The skinny SENs were available last season but the regular fit, loom stay jeans are a new addition to the collection.  Both pairs of jeans feature visible pocket selvedge and reinforced riveting.  The back pocket ‘W’ detailing and contrast stitching really makes both of these low rise denims stand out in a crowd.

Aphrodite Clothing also have the Edwin WIN Rebel Vintage, ED-39 and Nashville jeans in stock.  You can check out their collection at http://www.aphrodite1994.com/edwin-20.phtml or get more information on all of the different Edwin jeans at http://www.edwin-europe.com/denim_mens.php.

    Edwin Expert,

I need your help! I just purchased and received a pair of Edwin Sen (34W x 32L), like your 2nd photo above (zipper fly) and am frustrated with the measurements. Edwin (customer support said these run slightly larger than listed) and YOOX.com (whom I purchased it from) said it fits about a size 42 suit (which I’m a 34″waist and 43-44″chest). The pants I received is at least a size and a half larger (so large that when I tried them on, I can see my briefs curvature in my crotch! yikes!).
Even if I soak them in hot water, I’m not sure if the waist will shrink 2 inches to a 34″ size. I really want to keep them but am concerned about whether the waist will ultimately fit after breaking in for 6-9 month wear before I wash it to see if it’ll fit just right.
Edwin expert: What are your thoughts / experience?
    Thank you.

    Desperately Seeking Edwins,

    Norm

    Hi Norm,
My pair of SEN Skinnies are still unwashed so I’m not exactly sure on the shrinkage. Mine are a 32″ and perhaps fit a 33″ waist or just under. However, I would think that even if the waist did shrink 2 inches to your waist size upon washing, putting a fair bit of wear on the denim would stretch it out again. Maybe only half an inch, but enough to make them too big. Having said that though, I do think though that the 32w would be too small and if your waist is 34″… you would be better sticking with the larger size and working on the shrinkage.

    Hope this helps.
    DG

Thanks DG. I’ll know better, after wearing them a few days a week, for a year, before hot soaking/wash (and praying that the pant waist shrinks at least 3%, instead of my waist growing into it!)

try washing really hot at 90, it will mess up the leather tag but should shrink jean a few inches.
